Freddie Banico is the Vice President Technical at Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited.
Freddie started his aviation career in 2008 at Lufthansa Technik in the Philippines. He then moved to Lufthansa’s Irish subsidiary, working in production planning and aviation services with a focus on aircraft redeliveries.
In 2013, Freddie moved to the UAE, initially working for Emirates on pioneering A380 estimation for production planning and then as Planning Engineer leading turnkey aircraft maintenance projects at Etihad Airways Engineering.
In addition to his aviation related certifications, Freddie is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Manila and completed his EMBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, Washington DC.
Stephen Hayde is the Chief Technical Officer of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining the team at Sirius Aviation Capital, Stephen held the position of Senior Vice President Commercial at Seraph Aviation with responsibility for China, Asia, the Indian sub-continent and the Americas. From 2013 to 2017, Stephen held the position of Technical Director for ICBC International Leasing responsible for the management of ICBC’s aviation fleet outside of the PRC. From 2012 to 2013, Stephen held the position of Head of Technical at Volito Aviation Services Dublin responsible for the management of Volito’s aviation assets worldwide. Stephen started his career as an Avionics Engineer with Shannon Aerospace (Lufthansa Technik) in 1990. Stephen from his time at Shannon Aerospace has an in depth technical knowledge of all modern day commercial aircraft. Prior to leaving Lufthansa Technik, Stephen held the position of Head of Engineering and Planning at Lufthansa Technik Shannon and working with the greater Lufthansa Technik group was responsible for the development and implementation of a dedicated Lufthansa MRO production process across all Lufthansa Technik facilities Stephen studied Electrical Engineering at the Dublin Institute of Technology, is type rated and has held EASA B2 and Cat C approvals on MD80 / B737 / A320 and 767/767 type Aircraft.
JJ O’Toole is Vice President of Pricing & Credit Risk Analysis in Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited, JJ was with Seraph Aviation of the Stellwagen Group, where he held numerous positions on the Finance and Risk teams prior to leaving the company in 2018. JJ graduated from the University of Limerick in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Studies and completed a Master of Finance in University College Dublin in 2015.
Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer
Edward Coughlan is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to co-founding Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited, Edward held the position of Chief Commercial Officer of Seraph Aviation Management. From 2010 to 2015, Edward held the role of Senior Vice President of Marketing and served on the board at Volito Aviation an aircraft leasing company based in Dublin, which was a joint venture between the Volito Group and Goldman Sachs that owned and managed a portfolio of used single-aisle aircraft. From 2005 to 2010, Edward was director of leasing at Aero Turbine, an aircraft engine leasing company wholly owned by AerCap, and was responsible for engine leasing and trading covering Europe, the and has held numerous engineering roles at Air Atlanta Aero Engineering. Edward has a certificate in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Limerick and a Diploma in Business Studies from University College Cork.
Muhammad Abubaker is Director Reporting with Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining Sirius, Muhammad worked for Deloitte and Touché M.E Branch, where he was carrying out several complex assignments that includes IFRS conversion, Review and preparation of statutory financial statements, Internal controls GAP analysis, outsourced financial reporting consultant to major clients, Prior to joining Deloitte Muhammad was part of the Mazars UAE where he was responsible for conducting audit assignments ranging from multinationals to local UAE based groups . Muhammad started his career with PwC. Muhammad is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Niall O’Mahony is Senior Vice President of Legal at Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited, Niall worked at Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP from 2013 to 2021 where he trained as a solicitor and upon qualification worked as an associate in the asset finance department focusing on aircraft leasing and finance. During this time Niall advised operating lessors, lease managers and financial institutions on all aspects of aircraft finance and leasing. Niall holds a Diploma in Aviation Leasing & Finance with the Law Society of Ireland.
Prior to this Niall worked for over eight years in the investment funds industry. He worked for Brown Brothers Harriman and JP Morgan in Dublin as well as BNP Paribas and Goldman Sachs in Australia.
Niall was admitted as a solicitor by the Law Society of Ireland. Niall also has a Degree in Economics and Politics and a Higher Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies from University College Dublin.
Veena Mohan is Administrative & Leasing Officer of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited Veena worked with Aercap from 2011 – 2021 as Office Manager and Prior to that she worked at Waha Capital from 2005 – 2010 as Leasing officer and has also worked in several other Finance roles. Veena Graduated from the University of Madurai Kamaraj in 2000 with a Bachelor of Commerce & also has a post graduate diploma in e-technology programming from NIIT.
Howard Millar is the Chief Executive of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. The main part of Howard’s career was spent at Ryanair Holdings plc where he was latterly Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer (until 2014) having spent 23 years at the company. Howard continues to be on the board of directors of Ryanair as a Non-Executive Director and also serves on the Nomination Committee. He is also a Director of Viva Latinamerica (a joint venture between Irelandia Aviation and a US private equity firm) which owns two airlines Viva Colombia and Viva Peru. Prior to the establishment of Sirius he was Group Chief Operating Officer of the Stellwagen Group and Chief Executive of Stellwagen Capital, a US$1.5 billion specialised asset manager focused on managing aviation assets and investments for institutional investors. Howard graduated from Trinity College, Dublin and was awarded a BSc Mgnt (Hons) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Robert Bermingham is Senior Vice President of Commercial with Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Robert is responsible for the origination of aircraft for acquisitions, divestments, and portfolio remarketing. Robert has over 13 years’ experience in aircraft leasing. Robert joined Sirius in 2020 from Minsheng Financial Leasing where he was responsible for aircraft acquisitions and divestments. Additionally, Robert has held senior commercial roles at Dubai Aerospace Enterprise and AWAS (2012-2018) and senior treasury roles at AerCap (2009 -2012) and Orix Aviation (2007–2009). Prior to working in aircraft leasing, Robert was an Audit Manager at PWC. Robert holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies (Accounting and Finance) and is a qualified chartered accountant.
Edward Hansom is the Chief Investment Officer of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Before joining Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited he was Chief Investment Officer for Seraph Aviation Management from 2014 to 2017 where he focussed on developing aircraft investment strategies and risk management systems. From 2002 to 2014 he worked as an independent aircraft finance consultant specialising in business strategy, capital markets and risk management. From 1988 to 2002 Edward worked for GPA Group (subsequently AerFi), from 1997 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to 1988, Edward worked in London and Paris for Bank of Nova Scotia in corporate banking, credit analysis and treasury departments, and interest rate derivatives at Schroders. He is a graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford and the Manchester Business School.
Kieran Ryan is the Chief Financial Officer of Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. From 2011 to 2017, he acted as Head of European and Emerging Market corporate acquisition financing at Morgan Stanley working on some of the largest debt-driven transactions executed by the firm. He joined NatWest Bank on their Graduate Programme in 1993 before moving to Danske Bank as a Credit Analyst and later becoming Head of Origination in the Loan Syndications team. Between 2002 and 2011 he worked with RBS, Morgan Stanley and Santander originating, structuring and distributing debt-driven acquisition financing transactions across different credit profiles. Prior to co-founding Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited, Kieran acted as Chief Commercial Officer at Stellwagen Capital. Kieran graduated from the University of Limerick in 1990 with a Bachelor of Business Studies.
Philip Hansom is Vice President of Commercial with Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited. Prior to joining Sirius, Philip worked for the Korea Development Bank (KDB) from 2018 – 2020 where he was responsible for all aviation related business in the Irish branch. Prior to joining KDB Philip was part of the Commercial team at Sky Leasing, from 2016 – 2018, where he was responsible for sourcing aircraft trading opportunities and re-marketing aircraft in the EMEA region. Philip started his career in aviation with SMBC Aviation Capital where he was part of the Commercial Analysis team from 2014 – 2016. Philip graduated from University College Cork in 2012 with a bachelor’s in finance.
Hassan Ahari is the Chief Legal Officer of Sirius Aviation Limited. Hassan started his legal career at Clifford Chance in London, having also spent time in Clifford Chance’s Paris office. Before moving to Mubadala Development Company PJSC, Hassan worked at the London office of Cleary Gottlieb Stein & Hamilton. Between 2008 and early 2020 Hassan was a Partner and General Counsel at Mubadala Infrastructure Partners. Hassan has more than 20 years of experience in cross-border transactions across many geographies and variety of sectors including asset finance, debt and capital markets, infrastructure, corporate, M&A, regulatory and private equity and funds investments. Hassan graduated from Cornell University in the United States and obtained his jurisprudence degree from the University of Oxford.
